Next to an anonymous face in a newspaper photograph the text reads:
Despite his protests of innocence, the crowd chanted 'Kill him. Kill him'. And the man was dragged from the tank. Two shots were fired at his head and he fell to the ground, his face covered in blood.

An empty space within concrete walls high above the city. The woman's coat collar is turned up against the prevailing wind. Reflected in the wet concrete is the monotonous grey of the sky.

A circular painted face hacked by a chisel.

The man's naked corpse arches back over a small table with the limbs hanging down. His head is supported by the woman who kneels behind him. She gently presses her lips to his forehead, his inverted profile interlocking with hers. Beneath them is a burnt out camera and above hangs an inverted worm-eaten carving of Christ . To their right lies the body of the executed Nicoae Ceausescu.
