Goto's collaboration with the painter Paul Eachus began after he had completed his 'Shotover' series of large scale, semi-abstract photographs made in dense woodland near Oxford. The panel-works resulting from their conversations were made using a 'call and response' method, in which a panel was made by one of the artists and the other created a response using his medium.
