The day's newspaper, which has been folded in half, is leant against a snapshot of the man. It reads:
Vaclavik said 'We should be aware that retreats and compromises are necessary, but there are limits'.

A dark interior whose deep space is articulated by a few distant electric light bulbs. The woman is seen in close-up looking towards the left of frame. Around her neck is a string of pearls and on the rim of her eye a small tear.

A primitive moon-faced man, the painting is gashed from the left and the wooded support split vertically.

Above a pile of concrete rubble the forearms of the man and woman are locked in struggle. To the right, the man is hunched behind a plate camera with his head beneath an opaque cloth. Around him float damaged lenses with the appearance of Suprematist elements. One of his trouser pockets has been turned inside out. A huge crowd moves towards the top left-hand corner of the image where the banners of nationalism fly and the Dollar and the Deutschmark. The woman has her back turned and looks towards the shrouded man.

Ethics will be the aesthetics of the future.
