Looking back from an island in the estuary, the landscape is changed by six marine current turbines and a group of wind turbines on the distant hills. The lagoons have become more saline in a managed scenario which allows for frequent limited inundation and the gradual establishment of salt marshes. The habitat has attracted new species of birds to the area including herons, northern harriers, egrets and migrating ducks and geese. The adventures are dressed in orange protective jackets, and are reading the books given to them by the children of the future. Their vessel is propelled forward by a huge sail made from the canvas of Gericault's 'Raft of the Medusa'.
